The Scream!

The Scream is a series of four pictures by Edvard Munch.  It sold for $120million in an auction  It had warm colors in the sky, cool colors in the water, and neutral colors for the bridge and island.  We painted  a copy of this picture..  We took a picture of us pretending to scream, printed it out in black and white and put it on the picture.  It looks nice.  The pictures of us screaming are a little creepy. We also wrote about what scares us.  This is what scares us:  Lexys' closet, Ethan was spiders,  Nick was dogs, Hana was snakes, Rylan was not passing hockey try outs, Tineka was rats, Lacie was wolves, Hayden was bears, Ayden was leeches, Cadance was dolls and Carlos was spiders.

Colorful Changes

We did an experiment this week.  We put one flower in red water, one flower in blue water and we cut one flower's stem in the middle and put it in both.  We did the same with celery. After 2 days the celery and flower in blue, changed to blue.  The half and half celery changed half reddy-brown and half blue, when we broke the celery in half it looked like there were veins or little wires going through it with the color.  We broke the half and half flower's stem but 3-4E's flower was half pink and half blue.  The red celery changed to pink and the flower was very
light pink.

PS.  We also went on a hike this week to look at plants and animals living in soil and we saw a beaver!!!!  Our teacher was afraid it would bite us!!
 (so was Cadance!!)

T.W.A.S. (this week at school)

This week at school we had an artist writing stories with us.  Her name is Margaret Shaw-McKinnon and she is an illustrator and writer.  The books she wrote were Pod the Wood Elf, the Beechnut and Tikalia.  The first day she told us about herself and read Pod The Wood Elf.  She was 18 when she wrote Pod the Wood Elf. The second day we practiced drawing 6 faces that showed emotions.  The emotions were happy, sad, mad, jealous, in love and laughing your head off.  Then we started to brainstorm for our story.  We decided to write an animal story with a horse, a dog and a villain pig.  Each day we wrote and illustrated 1-2 pages of our story.  Each page had a different emotion, for example page 1 was happy, page 2 was sad and so on.  We didn't do jealous.  The last day we made a title page.  Here is our story:
